The Valley’s Unofficial Guide to Staying In the Know

  • The Big Three (Fire • Police • Ambulance): Just dial 911. It works here, too.
  • Non-Emergency Police: The nice folks at the Vermont State Police (Berlin Barracks) handle it. They’re busy, so make sure your crisis is at least a mild inconvenience. 802-229-9191
  • If You Ate Too Much Mad Taco: UVM Health – Central Vermont Medical Center’s ExpressCare – Berlin can patch you up. It’s small. It’s fairly close. And it’s online at Express Care – Berlin
  • Central Vermont Medical Center: 802-371-4100
  • Vermont Poison Control Center: 802-658-3456

Gossip

  • The Valley Reporter: The Valley’s Local Newspaper – The only thing people in line at The VG argue about more than the snow totals. It’s the absolute authority for town meetings and everything you need to feel in the loop.
  • The Official Party Planner (Chamber): Official Chamber Website – This is where they hide all the fun events, craft fairs, and festivals for Waitsfield, Warren, and Fayston. Check it.

Survival Amenities

  • The Mail Drop: Waitsfield and Warren have little Post Offices. They are exactly where you expect them to be. In Waitsfield, at 100 Mad River Green and in Warren, on Main Street across from the town offices and the fire station.
  • EV Juicing: You’re in rural Vermont, so charging stations are rarer than a free parking spot during ski season. Check Sugarbush or call your accommodation ahead of time.
  • Public Wi-Fi Oasis: The Joslin Memorial Library on Main Street in Waitsfield or Three Mountain Cafein the Mad River Green shops. It’s your free ticket back to the modern world (if you need it).
